Who we are

Beam is a trading name of YOUR FULL NAME, a sole trader in the United Kingdom. Address and contact details are on the contact page.

What you buy

A physical NFC card with a fixed web address on beam.li, and an online account where you choose and change where that address takes people. You pay once. There is no subscription.

Your right to cancel

You can cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the card and get a full refund. Email us and post the card back in the condition you received it. If a card is made to your own specification (for example with your logo), that right may not apply once we have started making it; we will tell you before you order.

How long the service runs

We intend to keep your card working for as long as we run Beam. If we ever decide to close the service, we will email you at least 12 months before, so you can move your link.

Faulty cards

If your card does not work when it arrives, or stops working because of a fault in how we made it, we will replace it free of charge. This does not affect your legal rights.

The following are not faults, and we do not replace cards free of charge for them:

If any of these happens, you can order a new card at the normal price. You can add the new card to the same account and point it to the same link.

Acceptable use

You must not point your card to anything illegal, fraudulent, harmful, deceptive (including phishing or malware), hateful, or sexually explicit. We check links with Google Web Risk when you save them and every day after that, and we do not allow link shorteners or links that send people on to a different website. If a link is listed as unsafe or is reported, we may pause it: taps then show a neutral page instead of your link. We may disable a card that breaks these rules and will tell you why.

Your account

Keep your password private. You must be 18 or over to create an account.

Liability

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for the content of the links you choose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can also bring proceedings in Scotland or Northern Ireland if you live there.
